Day Centre
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the day provision sessions for?
The sessions are being developed for adults who would benefit from companionship, social interaction, and a supportive environment during the day. They may also be suitable for people who require support with mobility or personal care, as well as those who simply enjoy spending time with others in a safe, welcoming setting.
Will personal care and mobility support be provided?
Yes, where required. Support with personal care and mobility will be provided by trained care professionals and delivered in a respectful, dignified way. Any support will be based on individual needs, abilities, and preferences and will be agreed in advance.
Do people need to have existing care in place to attend?
No. These sessions are intended to be accessible to people who may not currently receive regular care, as well as those who already have support in place. Each enquiry will be considered individually to ensure the sessions are suitable and safe.
How will safety and wellbeing be managed?
The sessions will be supported by experienced staff who follow safe working practices and relevant care standards. Individual needs, including mobility, personal care, and health considerations, will be discussed prior to attendance to ensure appropriate support is in place.
Will medication support be available?
Where appropriate, support with medication can be provided in line with agreed care plans and safe medication practices. Any medication support will be discussed in advance with the individual and their family or carer to ensure it is managed safely and appropriately.
Will dietary needs be catered for?
Yes. Lunch, pudding, and refreshments will be provided, and we will take dietary needs, preferences, allergies, and cultural requirements into account wherever possible. These details will be discussed as part of the enquiry process to ensure meals are suitable and enjoyable.
Is this service suitable for carers?
Yes. We recognise the important role of family members and unpaid carers. These sessions aim to provide reassurance that loved ones are being supported safely by trained professionals, while also offering carers a short break from caring responsibilities.
How much will the sessions cost?
Pricing has not yet been confirmed, as the service is still in development. Our aim is to make the sessions competitive and affordable. The cost is expected to include lunch, pudding, and refreshments throughout the day. Where appropriate, transport to and from the location could also be available for an additional fee, subject to assessment and availability.
When will the sessions start?
We plan to run trial sessions during 2026. Dates and further details will be shared here and on our website as plans are finalised.
